0–10 V controller: calm, precise analog lighting control

The 0–10 V controller brings standards‑compliant 0–10 V DC analog dimming to your SIMO.io smart home. It pairs with LED drivers and ballasts that accept 0–10 V, delivering predictable levels, smooth fades, and a professional day‑to‑day feel across architectural fixtures.

TL;DR

Low‑voltage control wiring. 0–10 V is a control signal only. Do not drive loads from DIM+/DIM–. Keep low‑voltage control separate from mains wiring and follow the LED driver/ballast datasheet and local regulations.

What it does

Wiring basics

Two‑wire control: connect DIM+ and DIM– on the controller to the matching 0–10 V control input on the LED driver/ballast. Power for the LED load comes from the driver’s mains/L/N or DC output as specified by the driver—not from the 0–10 V pair.

Common ground required. This controller exposes 0–10 V and GND. In SIMO.io’s wire‑first architecture, GND is your building’s local low‑voltage ground. Tie the Game Changer board to this ground. If a device uses its own DC supply, bond the supply’s negative (–) to the same local GND, and connect the device’s DIM‑ to that GND. Without a shared reference, the 0–10 V level will not be interpreted correctly.

Use cases

Specs

Control signal 0–10 V DC analog dimming (DIM+/DIM–)
Pins 0–10 V out and GND (shared reference)
Typical pairing LED drivers and ballasts that expose 0–10 V control inputs
Grounding Bond device negative (–) to local low‑voltage GND; connect DIM– to the same GND
Integration SIMO.io Game Changer snap‑in module; managed by the SIMO.io hub

FAQs

Does this power the lights?

No. 0–10 V is a control interface. Your LED driver powers the lights; the controller sets the dimming level.

Will this work with my driver?

If your driver or ballast supports a 0–10 V (or 1–10 V) control input labeled DIM+/DIM– or similar, it is designed for analog control and is a good candidate. Always check the datasheet for wiring and behavior.

How does it compare to DALI?

0–10 V is a simple analog signal—ideal for straightforward zones. DALI is a digital bus for addressable devices, groups, and two‑way feedback. SIMO.io supports both; choose the right tool for the job.

Change the module, not your weekend

Every SIMO.io PCIe‑style module is field‑replaceable. Your logic is bound to the port—not to throwaway device IDs—so if a module ever fails or you’re upgrading, pull it off the rail, snap in the replacement, and you’re done. The Game Changer board provides the same signals over that PCIe port instantly, so scenes, schedules, and security rules stay intact. No re‑pairing. No reprogramming. No hunting through automations. Keep a small set of spares and restore full function in minutes. That’s professional serviceability by design.

SIMO.io — Smart Home Supremacy. Every module serves with quiet precision—ruled locally by The Game Changer board, commanded by your SIMO.io hub (local or virtual)—for protective, reliable, inevitable control.
