• First time: “Hey SIMO, good night.” Sentinel will ask: “Good night—anything specific before you go to sleep?”
• Train it once: “Hey SIMO, when I say ‘good night’ next time, arm security on the first floor, lock all doors, turn off every light except path lights, and close all the blinds.”
• From then on: Say “good night,” and your butler executes—no questions.

3D human presence detector

Sentinel doesn’t just see motion; it maps people in 3D using 60 GHz mmWave with ~10 cm (4 in) precision. Create virtual zones—sofa, desk, hallway, stair treads—and automate only where presence is real.

What you can do

• Lighting that follows gracefully: a narrow path or single stair tread glows ahead of a person and fades a meter after they pass.
• Targeted comfort: nudge temperature only at the occupied zone (desk or sofa), not the whole room.
• Security with fewer false alarms: treat a quick hallway pass‑through differently from lingering in a restricted zone; escalate only when it matters.

Dust/pollution detector with built‑in siren

An optical dust/pollution detector watches for airborne hazards and fuses temperature, humidity, and VOC data to reduce false alarms. It reacts early in dry, contaminated air and relaxes in steamy bathrooms or kitchens.

How it behaves in real rooms

• Early when it should be: dry air + elevated VOCs = higher sensitivity and faster warnings.
• Quiet when it can be: high humidity from showers or boiling pots = eased thresholds that avoid nuisance trips.
• Confirmed event: Sentinel fires its internal 100 dB siren (4 kHz at 10 cm / 4 in) and flashes red. Tap the side button once to silence.
• Whole‑home readiness: sync Sentinels to escalate together (Warning, Alarm, or Panic) so nobody misses it.

Temperature and humidity

Comfort is temperature plus humidity. Sentinel feeds both to SIMO.io so your thermostat can target “real‑feel”—the level people actually experience. Your rooms feel consistent across seasons with fewer manual tweaks.

Air quality (VOC)

CO2 tells part of the story. VOCs capture odors and a broader range of real‑world pollutants from cooking, cleaning, and off‑gassing. Sentinel reports VOCs in ppb and shows an Air Quality Index (AQI) from 1–5 in the SIMO.io app.

AQI thresholds (VOC, ppb)

• Boost HRV/ERV, crack a motorized window, or notify occupants to air out the room when AQI rises.

Brightness (lux) sensing

From the ceiling and looking down, Sentinel reads reflected light to estimate room brightness in lux. Desk/floor lux may differ, but the trend is consistent—ideal for dependable lighting scenes.

What you can do

• Daylight harvesting: keep workspaces steady as daylight shifts.
• Corridor safety: maintain low night levels and brighten only when presence is detected.
• Bedtime rhythm: predictable evening fade‑downs that feel natural.

Siren and whole‑home signals

Beyond automatic air‑hazard alerts, Sentinel’s siren doubles as a whole‑home signaling device you can drive from SIMO.io alarm groups or custom scripts.

What you can do

• Security escalation: on breach, flip all Sentinels to Panic or Alarm at once—instant clarity.
• Everyday confirmations: short Success/Error tones confirm that a scene ran or a lock failed—no app required.
